This webcast will review medication changes and updates for the past year, including new indications for old medications, Reviews will include updates in GOLD and GINA guideline changes in management, and new biologic medications. Diseases will include COPD, asthma, ILD, and CF.

This presentation gives a basic overview of PAD with claudication, reviews the prevalence of PAD as well who is at increased risk. We will discuss how supervised exercise is an effective and value-based treatment for PAD and how this program can be started at a low cost within an existing cardiac rehabilitation program.

In this session strategies will be presented on how small changes over time will lead to great success. We discuss the method of communicating changing from talking in absolutes to a most-of-the-time conversation to help improve adherence among our patient population.

Academic and clinical experts in cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation (CR) and organizational management participated as a team in an NIH study focused on increasing the uptake of CR among patients with heart failure (HF). These experts identified the most pervasive barriers to CR for patients with HF and the most promising strategies to increase the use of CR for patients with HF. In this exciting presentation, faculty and experts who participated in the project will discuss the barriers that are preventing patients with HF from being recruited to, enrolling in, and completing CR and the strategies that can address these barriers.

This session will describe the most significant publications in 2023 in the field of pulmonary rehabilitation. A review of the current research with implications for translation of the research into clinical practice will be afforded.
