This webinar will provide an up-to-date overview of what the scientific community knows about the effects of psychological distress and well-being on cardiovascular health risk and promotion. Factors that may underlie this association for cardiac patients and strategies for increasing mental health awareness, help-seeking behaviors, and access to care for patients will be discussed.
Learning Objectives:
1.) Describe the relationships of different mental health symptoms and conditions with cardiovascular health risk.
2.) Identify behavioral and physiological factors implicated in both mental health and cardiovascular health.
3.) Practice and implement strategies for connecting patients in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation to mental health care.
