This course, recorded in 2018, will review key information regarding the CCRP Blood Lipid Management Competency, including:
1.) The basics of lipoprotein metabolism and the components of a standard lipid profile.
2.) The data on hypercholesterolemia as a cardiovascular risk factor and the role that hypercholesterolemia plays in the atherosclerotic disease process.
3.) Lifestyle recommendations for the treatment of high cholesterol.
4.) Pharmacologic approaches to the treatment of high cholesterol, with particular emphasis on guidelines for the treatment of elevated blood cholesterol published by the American Heart Association (AHA)and American College of Cardiology (ACC).
To align with the 2024 CCRP Exam Blueprint, a new CCRP Exam Preparatory offering will launch in March 2026. After the launch of this new offering, the existing Study Guide and the CCRP Preparatory Bundle will be archived. CEUs earned for the completion of the current CCRP Preparatory Bundle will still reflect on the user learning transcript available through the Learning Center dashboard.
